A Very Vegan Halloween
No, the title of this article isn’t a Halloween special on the CW. With Halloween looking a little different this year, and most of us cooking more than we ever have before, we wanted to round up the most delectable vegan treats that are sure to satisfy any candy craving that comes your way. From sugary candies to vegan recipes, we have you covered with this Halloween guide.
Let’s start with everyone’s favorite - candy. Choosing vegan candy can be tough. If you’re new to veganism, you might think a brand is vegan-friendly - “It’s just chocolate and peanut butter!” - when really it isn’t. Below, we’ve rounded up the safest name-brand candies to stock up on:

Skittles - a classic.
Airheads
Twizzlers
Jolly Ranchers
Swedish Fish
Sour Patch Kids - sour, sweet, gone is right!
Smarties
Dum-dums
Fun Dip - relive sticking your finger into the bag for that sweet powdery goodness.
Blow Pops
Now, when we started going through these vegan candies, we noticed a lack of chocolate products on the list. This is largely because most chocolate-based products are made with cow’s milk, but it doesn’t mean you have to skip out completely on chocolate this year. There are a ton of options that are also vegan-Halloween friendly.

Justin’s Dark Chocolate PB Cups
Oreos - our personal favorite for heavy snacking. They even have a Halloween version.
Trader Joe’s Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips - any excuse to go to TJ’s, right?
Lindt Excellence Dark Chocolate (70%+) - or any dark chocolate that doesn’t use animal products.
Cocomel Bites
Vegan Ice Cream from Ben & Jerry’s - you can’t pass this out, but a good one to keep for yourself! Try melting dark chocolate to make your own “hot fudge.”
If these Halloween candies aren’t enough to satisfy your sweet tooth, we’ve also rounded up vegan sweets you can bake for yourself at home, or throw back on the couch while you watch Halloweentown for the hundredth time:

Vegan Pumpkin Sugar Cookies with Frosting
Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats
We hope that whatever vegan treats you choose, you have a fantastic Halloween!
